Daffodil
Named after Spring flowers this collection of contemporary vessels are intended to display a single stem or modest group of flowers, encouraging you to bring a small token of nature inside to be appreciated. I created this collection in early 2021 when the UK was in lockdown and the arrival of Spring seemed even more prevalent and symbolic, Spring always represents new life and growth but this year it represented so much more than its usual charm and I wanted to capture that beauty.
Daffodil is around 5cm cubed and is made from water cast pewter encased in clear bio-resin with an eco-silver stem to hold your blooms up straight. A well is carved in to the cube which holds a small amount of water to keep your flowers fresh. Each one is cast and then sculpted by hand, for this reason the measurement of 5cm cubed is a very rough guide, I sculpt each one until I am happy with the unique pewter patterns that show on the surface so they all vary in size and are completely unique.
